A Time Beneath the Surface

roman2

I’ve seen a lot of morons on social media celebrating and encouraging political violence against people like Richard Spencer. The consensus among them seems to be something along the lines of “We can’t let this happen again. You saw what happened last time when we stood by as fascists rose to power. We can’t allow these people to have a public platform. They must be relentlessly attacked.” It isn’t surprising that they think this is some innovative or amped up approach, given how superficial most people’s knowledge of history is (Edward Gibbon spent decades of his life studying the fall of the Roman Empire in order to get a complete picture of just that one historical event.) I myself spent a couple of years obsessed with the Vietnam War, reading everything I could get my hands on that covered the subject, and I still feel like I only scratched the surface (maybe I’ll write more about this sometime.)

In any event, far from being an innovative or effective approach, the people encouraging violence are retracing the same steps and ironically are facilitating the expedited rise of nationalism. You always hear people talk about the Brownshirts and the Blackshirts as being these villainous thugs and bullies, jackbooted, Clockwork Orange level sadist gangs in uniform roaming the streets, terrorizing innocent people. Though they were made up mostly of normal working class people, 70 years of relentless post-war propaganda has mythologized them into monstrous legions of evil bogeymen. Yet you rarely hear people talk about why these groups were created. The reason why groups like the Blackshirts were formed in the first place was because nationalists were being heckled and attacked at their rallies. It was determined that protective groups had to be formed to prevent the rallies from being violently disrupted. Watch the 1967 interview below with Oswald Mosley, and tell me we’re not watching history repeat itself before our very eyes:

I doubt most of the people celebrating the gutless sucker punch on Richard Spencer have any clue what historical forces they’re re-unleashing. I doubt most of them would even know who Oswald Mosley was if they heard his name. The framework of most Americans’ understanding of WW2 history appears to be primarily shaped by Indiana (((Jones))) movies and a few weeks of hearing about the holocaust in school.

To get an idea of what we’re possibly headed toward, David Hines recently offered up an excellent Tweetstorm on the potentiality and form of future political violence in the United States. The only issue I would take is that he slightly overemphasizes the left/right paradigm in my opinion. Most major corporations endorsed Hillary. Democrat and Republican have become dated labels and are in the process of being redefined. Identity politics has proven to supersede mere class concerns. Wealthy CEOs who send jobs overseas and outsource are championed by the left so long as they promote non-whites into high positions in their companies and donate to social justice causes. Meanwhile, poor or middle class whites are vilified and now apparently even considered fair game targets for violence if they have they hold the “wrong” opinions on race, gender or just happen to be wearing a Trump hat in public. The divides seem to be more accurately pro-white vs anti-white, globalism vs nationalism or even pro-west vs anti-west. These three separate divides are intertwining to condense confused battle lines. It would seem that any white person who favors restricting immigration and promotes a protectionist trade policy will simply be categorized as far right from now on, no matter what their positions are on other issues.

Just to wrap things up, I support Richard Spencer, and I’m doing my part to move away from all the “factioning,” infighting and signaling, in order to better assist those that are out there taking the heat from people who hate all of us.

BackPage’s Greatest Hits

Well, BackPage finally relented and pulled the plug on their “adult services” section. It goes without saying that in the short term this will have a profound financial impact on the women who make their living offering these *ahem* services. I personally have no problem with prostitution other than the fact that as a hypochondriac and a germophobe I’ve never been inclined to actually visit one (the closest I think I’ve ever gotten would be getting lap dances at a strip club where the girls openly flouted some of the rules on contact.)  I guess the other issue I have with prostitution is that it’s just another annoying level of consumerism and the commoditization of absolutely everything. It has always been around though and probably always will be.

I’m not sure it’s worth paying for a lot of these women, and I don’t know enough about psychology to understand the men that do it repeatedly. In real life, most hookers don’t look like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman and are actually pretty beat. Many of them use fake or misleading pictures and often the ones that use real pics are pretty bottom of the barrel generally (look at a few mugshots on google images to get an idea.) Some of them are genuinely pretty but tend to get some rough miles on them fairly quickly. There are undoubtedly a lot of attractive and honest female escorts mixed in among the riff raff, but for the effort required to locate a legit one without getting robbed, arrested or scammed you might as well just spend all that energy trying to find a decent girlfriend or wife.

When I moved to Hollywood in the late 90’s I noticed right away there were no hot streetwalkers or anything like in the movies. The only prostitutes seemed to be horribly unpassable trannies that sauntered around Santa Monica blvd (think Ted Wass dressed as a hooker in Curse of the Pink Panther.) My friend told me the authorities had “cleaned up” Hollywood Blvd a few years before, so I have no idea if what was previously depicted in movies was ever anything close to resembling reality.

This is not what a typical prostitute and her client look like and was also a pretty bad movie and also forever ruined the Roy Orbison song of the same name.

Anyway, where was I going with all this? I don’t normally like writing about these kinds of subjects because it brings out the “ZOMG Degeneracy!” crowd and the prudish right. I won’t really miss BackPage, and the people that run it are the same kind of people that bitch about censorship yet have no problem with censorship when it comes to crimethink they disapprove of. One thing I will miss though, is reading the often humorous reviews of BackPage escorts. I first stumbled onto them by accident several years ago when searching for the address of a (recently converted) condo unit I was looking to buy:

Hey guys just letting everyone know that if you book a session with Pixie or any girl at 1241 e. medlock Villa Marvsa apartments that you will be getting more than you bargained for. There is a guy (calling himself T-Bone)in one of the locked bedrooms that video and audio tapes every session. He then keeps all the tape cause in case he needs to use them later[/QUOTE]

I’m a little freaked about this myself. I visited Pixy a couple of weeks ago because I wanted to see if she could actually squirt. Things did seems pretty normal during the introduction. Looking back now I can see that this could be true. She started off by making her “disclaimer” speech which I though was a little unusual, but nothing really really caught me off guard at the time. If they are recording this as a way to protect themselves from LE I could understand that but the really should disclose that info up front. If it’s for the purpose of redistributing I’m going to be up shit creek. I definately will not be back there either way.

I had no idea at the time there was an entire internet subculture of these kinds of reviews. Reading them has been an occasional source of amusement for me when I’m bored every now and then. These people have their own lingo (GFE, BBBJ, etc) which takes a bit of time to decode. They tend to refer to their encounters as dreams (ie. “I had a dream I visited Wilma in Riverside”) presumably as some kind of legal loophole to prevent them from incriminating themselves in a crime. These reviews are often explicit in the grossest ways, and some of these people are truly degenerates and completely without shame or class. Yet even among them there exists something of a code of honor in how business is conducted and people are treated.

One interesting development from BackPage shutting down it’s escort ads has been that these women are now simply placing their ads in the “women seeking men” section of the dating classifieds. Wew! So don’t be surprised if on apps like Tinder and Okcupid you start getting an influx of matches, propositions and “dates” from actual live escorts (in addition to the normal annoying bots and spam scripts that already run rampant on those sites.) Be safe out there, lads and ladies. It’s best to just avoid all this crap and find a nice stable relationship if you can…and even if you can’t, there are more productive ways you can spend your time…like reading old books or reading any book for that matter.  Heck even playing “Leisure Suit Larry 6” for a few hours would be a better use of your time. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Strike a Blow Against Global Cubicle-ism!

cube

So I admit I’ve never been much into the donations racket, and I find it somewhat ridiculous when I see someone with a Patreon that has numerous devoted fans pledging to give like two thousand bucks per youtube video a person makes. I can understand if you’re involved in a project that requires expensive production or animation, as well as frequent travel accommodations, but if you’re just a dude that sits in front of a camera and rants for 15 minutes about subjects that won’t get you fired from any job in corporate America….demanding thousands per video seems seems kind of lame.

To quote Ray Bradbury once again:

Either you love what you’re doing, or . . . Look, I wrote for years, and I wasn’t paid. My love carried me through all those years. I sold newspapers on the street corner. When I was twenty-two, I was making ten dollars a week. When I started making twenty dollars a week from selling stories, I quit selling newspapers. You’re either in love with what you do, or you’re not in love.

I’m perfectly content with just barely scraping by if it means I get to do what I’m passionate about and be as weirdly creative as I want with the content I create. We live in an age of corporate censorship and the prospects for me ever being able to have a high profile normie job again (even if I wanted one) become incrementally bleaker by the hour. In fact, the paradox we face in dissident political and artistic communities is that the more prolific and prominent one becomes in the circles, the more isolated and ostracized they are from opportunities in the outside world. In the end, it’s simply a gamble. Can you go “all in” and still survive while being true to yourself, or do you keep your mouth shut and keep your head down, quietly collecting your direct deposit from the cubicle mafia? No offense to the actual mafia, (which I went through a phase of wanting to join after seeing Goodfellas in the 7th grade.)

Anyhow, if you have enjoyed the content on this site or any other sites and projects I have been involved with, I would appreciate a small contribution for my work. Even if you hate me and are pretty much disgusted by everything I say and do, but you still respect the spirit of free speech and are fed up with corporate busybodies enforcing ideological litmus tests of any kind on potential employees….well feel free to contribute a few bucks. Maybe someday you’ll find your opinions have run afoul of what’s publicly acceptable, and you’ll need someone to have your back. I’ll be there for you either way.

I’m not looking for thousands of dollars or anything, but it would be helpful to get my message out (or any message out) if you were to contribute at least a few dollars. I lead an incredibly minimalist lifestyle, so I don’t need much to subsist, but I do need something occasionally. I’m not even going to be that dude that’s like “you guys better start donating if you want me to keep updating this site.” I’m not even pretending to be offering you anything of significant value or some special content you absolutely can’t live without…just throw me a bone.
